OT Training Solutions (OTTS) delivered 36 Stryker Remote Weapon Station (RWS) Trainers to the U.S. Army National Guard, completing their order under a General Services Administration schedule.
The Stryker RWS Tabletop Gunnery Trainer is a stand-alone PC-based training device allowing crews to hone their skills and be better prepared for live combat scenarios. The training is based on the Heavy Brigade Combat Team (HBCT) Gunnery Manual and uses a progressive training matrix.
“In fulfilling this order, OTTS ensured both the hardware and software helped the U.S. Army National Guard achieve training goals for soldier proficiency on the weapons systems,” said Marion Owens, OTTS president/CEO and owner.
The system allows new commanders to become familiar with the RWS prior to any qualification, field exercise or combat situation. The trainer also provides training to locate, identify, and engage enemy targets in accordance with the Stryker HBCT Gunnery Manual standards.
During the delivery, OTTS conducted a class on the table-top trainer to instruct soldiers on how to pack, set up and operate the devices no matter the conditions or locations.
“The OTTS Stryker Remote Weapon Station Trainers are portable tabletop systems, giving military units the option to train wherever and whenever they need,” said Owens. “It was important to OTTS to create a trainer that was versatile and durable so that soldiers could train in any environment.”
Both the M2 .50 caliber and the MK19 weapons are supported with the OT Training Solutions trainer. The system utilizes a high-resolution display with touchscreen for system and instructor and exercise control. The Stryker Fire Control Unit (FCU) includes data for each weapon system as well as individual soldier scoring data, which is saved for the NCOIC and Company Commander to track performance.
OTTS Stryker RWS Trainers are available through the General Services Administration Schedule GS-02F-131AA.
