As part of a larger focus to advance opportunities for women in Afghanistan, OTTS was selected to develop a comprehensive program of instruction in the areas of literacy, office management, and computer skills, under the Gender Occupational Opportunity Development (GOOD) Program. Generally, women in Afghanistan had few skills that allowed them to gain work other than as very basic laborers.
We utilized our approved literacy curriculum and developed curricula for the other topics to include training aids and supplemental materials. We recruited and trained an all-female Afghan training staff to conduct the instruction in all major regions of the country.
This program received numerous praise from American officials, CSTC-A, and Afghan officials, and was often referred to as one of the most important projects occurring the country. We are extremely proud to have had the opportunity to build this program, implement it, and positively affect the lives of Afghan women
